fter the most ambitious and extensive restoration and renovation works in the hotel’s history, the five-star Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid, is now open to guests.
Located in the heart of Madrid’s commercial and cultural district, Mandarin Oriental Ritz stands in the city’s famous ‘Golden Triangle of Art’, a short distance from the Prado, the Thyssen-Bornemisza, and the Reina Sofía Museum of Modern Art.
One of the most iconic buildings in Madrid, the five-star Mandarin Oriental Ritz first opened its doors to guests in 1910. The building was originally designed under the supervision of the legendary hotelier, César Ritz. Retaining much of the hotel’s prominent character, Spanish architect, Rafael de La-Hoz, has been instrumental in the historic restoration of the property. French designers Gilles & Boissier have overseen the evolution of the hotel’s interior décor, combining luxury with comfort, particularly in the rooms and suites.
This hotel is perfect for guests looking for a truly luxurious stay in the heart of Madrid, with the Mandarin Oriental Ritz offering decadent cuisine, exquisite rooms and a fantastic range of amenities. You’ll be in good company, as this Ritz Hotel is renowned for hosting royalty, politicians, corporate leaders and celebrities.
Mandarin Oriental Ritz
The hotel boasts 100 elegant rooms and 53 palatial suites, all showcasing classic-contemporary décor and tasteful, soothing colour palettes. Many of the hotel’s rooms and suites have views over the inner courtyard, while others look out onto Plaza de la Lealtad or Prado Museum. Many of the rooms feature rich, dark oak wood floors and bathrooms with refined white Dolomite stone panelling. Certain suites have marble bathrooms and unique floor to ceiling glass walls connecting the bedroom and bathroom.
Several of the hotel’s executive suites are situated within the building’s charming turrets and include spacious, private dining areas, living rooms and studies.
Restaurants
There are five restaurants and bars within the hotel and all menus have been designed, developed and overseen by Chef Quique Dacosta, one of Spain’s most celebrated chefs. Each restaurant has its own distinct character. Deessa, the hotel’s signature restaurant overlooking the Ritz Garden, has two extensive tasting menus available for lunch and dinner. The dishes here are created from high-quality, locally-sourced produce.
Palm Court offers all day dining under the large, stunning, reconstructed dome ceiling. Here, guests can sample the hotel’s renowned traditional Afternoon Tea or visit the intimate Champagne Bar. Seating only eight people, this exclusive bar expertly pairs champagne with caviar, oysters and other amuse-bouche tapas options.
